Tamara W. Brooks was born in Virginia where she attended James Madison University. Later she advanced her studies at Mississippi College of Law. She is married to C. Michael Brooks, Jr. and is the mother of two sons. Along with practicing law, she teaches in the Paralegal Certificate program at Duke University. She is a member of Christ Our Hope church where she is very active participating in many ministries including women’s and children’s ministries’. She volunteers in the Wake County School system and enjoys working with children. She is an avid reader and experimental cook. She enjoys spending time with her family and riding bikes.
Raven Rassette Byrne grew up in Cary, North Carolina. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Campbell University School of Law. She also attended El Centro Internacional de Estudios Culturales in Seville, Spain. Raven served as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem representing abused and neglected children in Harnett, Johnston and Lee Counties. Raven has also worked in conjunction with Legal Aid of North Carolina representing victims of domestic violence in Wake County. Raven lives with her husband Adam Byrne and daughter in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. Raven is active in her church, Destination Community Church, serving in the children’s ministries. Raven also serves on the board of directors for Hands of Compassion International, a nonprofit organization providing humanitarian services to impoverished communities. In her free time Raven enjoys spending time with her family, a good workout and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
